What Our Students Say

I think I’ve really enjoyed the fact that I’ve had to make new friendships, especially because I didn’t know anyone coming in – but after the first few weeks I think I’ve adapted to it really well.

Dan

“I decided to study at Leeds City College because I liked the equipment and the rooms that they had, and I liked how it was a whole new space – it had only recently been built so everything was brand spanking new and it looked really clean and really nice.”

Rachel

“Before I came to Leeds City College, I was in school, I was in such a bad way at school, skiving lessons all the time, teachers always on my case, getting kicked out numerous times almost. So I applied for here just hoping to get on a course, I got accepted – it was entry Level 3. Dave was my tutor and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better as a tutor, because he just helped me. He helped me with every regard, with Maths and English, workshop work, the theory side of the workshop work – telling me how everything is and showing me what’s what.”

About Enterprise & Employability

Taught at Somerville House, our Enterprise & Employability courses are tailored to assist you in progressing to your chosen future, whether that is employment, an apprenticeship or vocational study. As part of your course, you will be given the opportunity to work on a range of projects that will enhance your skills in communication, teamwork and creative thinking, alongside other key personal development skills that will enhance your future prospects.

Each course includes an employability element – so as you increase your skills and develop your knowledge, you’ also prepared for entering the world of work. We focus on getting you experience working in real environments via a range of activities and events. We work with employers to arrange talks, workplace visits, live briefs and employability events – all geared to preparing you for your next steps.

If you’re wanting hands-on experience, to earn a wage while you learn and to gain a recognised qualification, consider an apprenticeship. We have a wide variety to choose from including marketing, community health and wellbeing, and project management.
