Course Information
Overview
Whether you want to go on to further study or gain employment, you will expand your enterprise and employability skills to help you take those next steps. This varied course emphasises personal development through valuable volunteer opportunities and experience of working on events and projects. You will gain a recognised qualification and progression support.
What will my study programme look like?
This is a full-time course for 1 year. You will be required to attend college for 16 hours (minimum) per week from September to July. Most courses run over 3 days per week and individual sessions are usually 1-2 hours long (with regular ‘brain break’ activities throughout).
Course units/modules
As part of this pathway, you will study NCFE Level 2 Employability Skills, Business Start Up or Creative Craft. You will also study Maths and/or English GCSE/Functional Skills, Fundamentals Life & Work Skills Builder sessions, alongside attending Enrichment & Enterprise sessions.
You will be required to complete 30 hours of real Work Experience during the year to complete the course.
During the course, you will build up a portfolio and digital CV to help you progress to your chosen next steps, whether that be further education, employment, or an apprenticeship.
Entry requirements
Enrolment in the Level 2 course is for students who can work at the Level 2 academic standard. For this reason, we usually require a grade 2 GCSE or equivalent to ensure students succeed in their studies. Students will be required to evidence their previous grades at enrolment and will be subject to a successful interview with a member of staff on campus.

Available apprenticeships and progression options
Upon successfully completing this course you can progress to further study at Leeds City College in your chosen vocational area, at Level 1 or 2.
You could progress on to a relevant Apprenticeship Pathway, alternatively, you could choose to enter full or part-time employment.
