About us

Leeds City College is a further education institution located in Leeds, West Yorkshire. We offer a wide range of courses and programs, including vocational and academic subjects, apprenticeships, and adult education. We are one of the largest further education institutions in the country with more than 20,000 students and one of the biggest providers of apprenticeships regionally.

We are known for providing opportunities for students to gain practical skills and qualifications to prepare them for their chosen careers. We play a significant role in the educational landscape of Leeds and the surrounding region.

We are a part of Luminate Education Group, which include Leeds Sixth Form College, Harrogate College, Keighley College, Leeds Conservatoire, University Centre Leeds and Yorkshire Centre for Training & Development. As a Group we are dedicated to providing a wide range of educational opportunities and services. This collaborative approach allows for shared resources and expertise among the member institutions to enhance the overall educational experience for students.

  • Safeguarding

    Luminate Education Group is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

    All successful applicants are required to complete all mandatory pre-employment checks, including:

    • Proof of right to work in the UK
    • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check
    • Children’s barred list check (we may also check the adult barred list if the role involves working with vulnerable adults)
    • Two professional references
    • Fitness to work, this is conducted by our occupational health partners, NHS Airedale
    • Section 128 check for all staff entering management roles
    • Prohibition check for all staff entering teaching related roles

    Please Note: All successful applicants who have lived or travelled overseas for three months or more in the past five years will be required to undertake an overseas check as part of the pre-employment checks.

    • Discounted gym memberships – 20% off Bodyline gyms with no joining fee and £5 off monthly fees at Village Gyms.
    • Memberships – Employees can acquire various membership cards/schemes, such as Costco and The Gourmet Society. These offer cost savings on a number of products or services.
    • IT products – Employees can access Microsoft products at heavily discounted rates and free antivirus.

    Luminate Education Group vacancies generate a lot of interest and we receive many calls and emails from recruitment agencies. Although we do appreciate the interest you have shown in Luminate Education Group, our policy is to recruit candidates directly wherever possible. We therefore do not accept any cold calls, speculative emails or CVs from agencies. Speculative emails and CVs will be deleted unread.
