Situated near our Printworks Campus, our Somerville House provides a diverse range of amenities, tailored for learners aged 16 to 18 (up to 24 with an EHCP) who are keen on enhancing their personal development and employability skills alongside English and maths. The campus features dedicated spaces for projects and events, social hubs and cafe facilities, and wheelchair accessibility is ensured throughout the campus.

Get some fresh air on your way to and from college – walking has many benefits from physical fitness to improved mental health. You can set your own pace and know that you’re doing your bit for the environment by walking into college.
Fun fact – a short daily walk can increase productivity by up to 30%.
Coming from further afield, or wanting to beat the traffic? Cycling is a great form of exercise providing plenty of health benefits, as well as being kind to the environment.
Visit the Leeds City Bikes Scheme for more information about hiring a bike – this option may work out as more affordable than buying a bike, and is convenient if you don’t have storage at home for your own bike. And explore local cycle routes here!
Fun fact – regular cycling can improve sleep – improved sleep has a huge amount of health benefits.
With the train and bus stations within walking distance of Somerville House, public transport is more eco-friendly than driving and offers regular services within Leeds and to neighbouring towns and cities. Student tickets tend to be lower in cost than adult tickets and railcards and passes, where available, offer discounted prices. Fun fact – Leeds used to have a tram network – it was closed down in the late 50s. Trams are set to return to Leeds in 2030.
If travelling by car is your preferred method of transport, why not car share? It can save you money by splitting the cost of fuel and parking, is better for the environment in that it can reduce congestion and if you sign up for a lift share scheme you could make new friends.
Fun fact – car sharing can speed up your journey as it allows you to use the 2+ person lanes – handy at peak travel times.
Accessible via a number of major roads through Leeds, it is possible to drive to us, however, we encourage all staff and students to use alternative methods of transport where possible. Our campus is conveniently located for access by bus, and the train station is less than twenty minutes walk away. If driving to campus please be advised there is limited parking available for visitors; space availability to be confirmed on arrival at campus reception.
Fun fact – Our School of Sustainable Technologies and Motor Vehicle students work on real cars – including electric vehicles.
