We are looking to recruit a Machining Apprentice to support the growth of our business. As an apprentice, you will receive hands-on training, gain recognised qualifications, and build the knowledge needed for a rewarding career in precision machining within a supportive and forward-thinking team.

Overview

This Level 3 Machining Technician apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in precision engineering while working towards a recognised qualification. Apprentices will work within an experienced engineering team and develop a range of machining skills, including milling, turning, grinding, and other specialist processes.

The role provides hands-on experience with both conventional and CNC machinery, as well as learning about tooling, measurements, tolerances, and producing components to accurate specifications. Apprentices will also develop skills in reading technical information, setting up machinery, checking finished components, identifying faults, and following quality and safety procedures.

Alongside workplace training, the apprentice will attend college one day per week to complete the Level 3 Machining Technician qualification. The apprenticeship would suit someone with an interest in engineering who has good attention to detail, enjoys practical problem-solving, and is willing to learn. A full-time position is available upon successful completion.

Training to be Delivered

  • Develop practical machining skills across milling, turning, grinding, and other engineering processes.
  • Learn to set up, operate, and adjust conventional and CNC machinery safely and accurately.
  • Gain experience reading engineering information, measuring components, and working to precise tolerances and quality standards.
  • Complete a nationally recognised Level 3 Machining Technician qualification through workplace training and weekly college attendance.
