Overview
This Level 2 Adult Care Worker apprenticeship provides the opportunity to gain practical experience supporting autistic adults while working towards a recognised care qualification. The role focuses on providing person-centred support, helping individuals make choices, achieve personal goals, take part in activities, and become more involved in their communities.
Apprentices will work alongside experienced staff and develop skills in communication, safeguarding, positive behaviour support, care planning, and supporting the physical and emotional wellbeing of service users. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, following health and safety procedures, supporting medication processes where appropriate, and working closely with colleagues, families, and other professionals.
The apprenticeship is suited to someone who is patient, empathetic, non-judgemental, flexible, and committed to helping people with autism and learning disabilities live more independently. Alongside workplace experience, apprentices will complete training towards the Level 2 Adult Care Worker qualification, with the possibility of progressing into a permanent position after successful completion.
