We’re looking for an apprentice engineer to join our family owned and operated pump maintenance and installation company on a full time basis with day release to college to complete a 3-year course. The role encompasses wide discipline, and knowledge will be gained in both electrical and mechanical fields.

Overview

This Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician apprenticeship provides the opportunity to develop practical skills in both electrical and mechanical engineering while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience maintaining, repairing, installing, and testing pumping systems and associated control equipment in both workshop and on-site environments. Alongside practical training, apprentices will attend college one day per week to build their technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.

The role involves servicing water and wastewater pumping equipment, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, assisting with new installations, and supporting the manufacture of pumping systems. Apprentices will also develop an understanding of health and safety, problem-solving, and industry best practices while working alongside experienced engineers. The programme is suited to individuals with strong attention to detail, logical thinking, and an interest in engineering, with the opportunity to secure a full-time position upon successful completion.
