Overview
This Level 2 Butcher apprenticeship provides the opportunity to develop practical butchery skills while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience in a traditional butchery environment, learning a range of techniques from preparing and processing meat to producing value-added products such as sausages, burgers, and ready meals. Alongside practical training, apprentices will attend college one day each week to develop their technical knowledge and industry skills.
The role also involves serving customers, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and workplace safety, and supporting the day-to-day running of the shop. Apprentices will work alongside experienced butchers to build confidence in knife skills, meat preparation, and customer service. The programme is suited to individuals who are enthusiastic, hardworking, and interested in developing a career in the food industry, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent role and further training upon successful completion.
