Digital Marketing

Embarking on the journey of entrepreneurship is both thrilling and daunting, especially in today’s competitive market landscape.

In the pursuit of growing their sustainable business SeaIStop, Isabelle Richardson discovered our SKILLUP to Digital Marketing short course that proved transformative.

We caught up with Isabelle to find out more about the valuable skills she gained and how these propelled her business

What first attracted you to this profession?

I started a company called SealStop and was looking for a course to help with my startup business. I wanted to learn about digital marketing and find a clever way to help people to change their way of thinking about saving water.

The main appeal of the course was that it was local and through a college. I was lucky enough to have my course funded as well.

How did you find out about the SKILLUP Digital Marketing course?

I found the opportunity online after looking on the college website, which seemed like the perfect fit for my aspirations in digital marketing.

Did you have any initial concerns about doing the course? If so, what were they?

Initially, I preferred face-to-face learning over online lessons. However, having an exceptional teacher like Nyla, who made the lessons interactive and catered to my dyslexia, soon diminished my worries.

What did you learn in your course?

My course involved two hours of lessons every Monday night which worked great around my work.

Learning about SEO and keyword strategies proved invaluable for my business plan. The course equipped me with data analytics skills, enabling me to quantify the impact of my social media campaigns and create evidence for the business plan.

How has the course helped drive your career ambitions?

It gave me the knowledge and skills to market my product. Without doing this course it would have been a much harder struggle.

How would you rate the support you received throughout the course?

The support, especially from my tutor Nyla, was exceptional. Her feedback and encouragement played a significant role in my learning journey.

Lastly, what would you say to anyone who is considering doing a SKILLUP course?

I would encourage anyone to just go do it, you learn so much in such a short amount of time. Nyla had a way of making it very interactive and interesting to learn.

What would you say to other women looking to go into the tech industry?

There shouldn’t be any barriers for women entering the technology field. As a woman, I’ve never let gender stand in the way of pursuing my ambitions.

Elevate your career with our SKILLUP short courses in Digital Marketing, Cybersecurity, Coding, Data Management, and Networking.
