Course Information
Introduction
This apprenticeship involves working as an events assistant. An events assistant is an entry level position, typically involving working within an events company or within the events department of a larger organisation.
Overview
This apprenticeship will be delivered through a mix
of college and work-based learning. Apprentices will
also have regular meetings with the assessor who
will also involve their manager in regular progress
reviews. You will learn topics such as; Providing on-site assistance at an event, Understanding clients’ needs, and Managing and reconciling event budgets.
Who is this course for?
This apprenticeship is for someone who wants to support running events. The role would usually provide support to a number of event planners or project managers by carrying out a diverse range of tasks necessary to plan, organise and deliver an event. These tasks may include searching for the right location and venue for the event, working with the design team on the look and feel of the event or organising dealing with logistics such as transportation and catering.

- Gathering and collating information
- Providing on-site assistance at an event
- Managing time effectively
- Using event technology platforms and in-house bespoke software
- Understanding clients’ needs
- Managing and reconciling event budgets

Entry requirements
The employer will agree entry requirements for these apprenticeships. There are no formal entry requirements but GCSE grade 4 and above or equivalent in English and Maths would be an advantage.
Available Apprenticeships and Progression options
Career progression will be based on the employer. Roles could include Events Manager or Wedding Coordinator. Course progression includes Level 4 Project Management.
Assessment types
The end-point assessment takes place at the end of the apprentice’s learning and development, after a minimum of 18 months of on-programme learning. It will consist of a project (50%), portfolio of evidence and professional discussion (50%), which is carried out after the apprentice has met the required criteria to pass the gateway process. The apprenticeship is graded a pass, distinction or fail based on the apprentice’s performance in the end- point assessment.
