Course Information
Overview
This is a great course for anyone interested in exploring interpersonal skills. The 30 hour course will help you to build confidence in communicating with others within a supportive group atmosphere. You will Learn about communication skills such as active listening and as an introduction into counselling.
The course is based on the person-centred counselling approach and requires some experiential participation to learn communication skills. In addition to this approach two other models of counselling will be discussed. This is an enjoyable course which promotes lively discussion and fun!

Who is this course for?
For those learners interested in exploring what counselling training entails, this qualification offers a practical introduction. Learners will develop communication skills and gain important industry insight to help make informed career decisions.
This course is only for 19+ learners.

Benefits and skills
You will develop communication and listen skills which will enhance both personal and professional relationships. You will develop self-awareness and confidence, which will lead to higher self-esteem. You will gain knowledge of three main counselling models, which will prepare for progression to the level 3 Certificate in Counselling.
Entry requirements
Ability to complete assignment at Level 2
Available apprenticeships and progression options
You can progress to the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling skills.
Skills and knowledge gained can be applied to a variety of supportive roles and/or any career where communication and listening skills are a desired requirement.
