Reflecting the vibrancy of Leeds’ Cultural Quarter through its innovative design, Quarry Hill prides itself on strong industry links and cutting-edge facilities.

The campus boasts specialist childcare and public training resources, health science labs and a practical care suite, creative digital technologies, and industry-standard studios and theatres.

Facilities include purpose-built dance studios, theatre, darkrooms, childcare facilities, medical areas, modern classrooms, digital suites, stages and creative studios.

Getting to Quarry Hill Campus

There are many ways you can get to us.

• Walking

  Get some fresh air on your way to and from college – walking has many benefits from physical fitness to improved mental health. You can set your own pace and know that you’re doing your bit for the environment by walking into college.

  14 minute walk from the train station
  2 minute walk from the bus station

  Fun fact – a short daily walk can increase productivity by up to 30%.

• Cycling

  Coming from further afield, or wanting to beat the traffic? Cycling is a great form of exercise providing plenty of health benefits, as well as being kind to the environment. With Sheffield cycle hoops located at the campus, you can lock up your bike, safe in the knowledge it will be waiting for you at the end of the day.

  Visit the Leeds City Bikes Scheme for more information about hiring a bike – this option may work out as more affordable than buying a bike, and is convenient if you don’t have storage at home for your own bike. And explore local cycle routes here!

  Fun fact – regular cycling can improve sleep – improved sleep has a huge amount of health benefits.

• Public Transport

  Quarry Hill is ideally located for easy access from Leeds Bus Station (only a two minute walk away) and for those taking the train, Leeds Train Station is a short 14 minute walk from campus. Public transport is more eco-friendly than driving and offers regular services within Leeds and to neighbouring towns and cities. Student tickets tend to be lower in cost than adult tickets and railcards and passes, where available, offer discounted prices.   Fun fact – Leeds used to have a tram network – it was closed down in the late 50s. Trams are set to return to Leeds in 2030.

• Car Share

  If travelling by car is your preferred method of transport, why not car share? It can save you money by splitting the cost of fuel and parking, is better for the environment in that it can reduce congestion and if you sign up for a lift share scheme you could make new friends.

  Fun fact – car sharing can speed up your journey as it allows you to use the 2+ person lanes – handy at peak travel times.

• Driving

  Accessible via a number of major roads through Leeds, it is possible to drive to us, however, we encourage all staff and students to use alternative methods of transport where possible. There is limited visitor parking at Quarry Hill. Visitors should request a parking permit from Quarry Hill Campus reception, which should then be clearly displayed on their vehicle’s windscreen.

  Fun fact – Our School of Sustainable Technologies and Motor Vehicle students work on real cars – including electric vehicles.
