Course Information
Introduction
This programme will allow students to train in the kitchen to become commis chefs. A commis chef learns how to carry out the basic functions in every section of the kitchen.
Overview
With this apprenticeship, you will work as a commis chef which is the most common starting position in many kitchens and is the junior culinary role. You will prepare food and carry out basic cooking tasks under the supervision of a senior chef. This learning journey is necessary to gain experience in the basics to later to progress to a more senior chef role.

Apprentice Commis Chef
As an apprentice commis chef you will learn about all aspects of food preparation. In addition you will cook a wide range of menu items including vegetables, meat and fish. You will also maintain a high level of food hygiene. Kitchen Assistant As a kitchen assistant you will support the team with the preparation of menu items. In addition, you will keep the kitchen and equipment clean. You will also communicate with the team to ensure the smooth running of the food preparation process.
