Overview
This Level 3 Machining Technician apprenticeship provides the opportunity to gain practical experience within an engineering and design environment while working towards a recognised qualification. The role focuses on developing technical skills in engineering drawings, CAD, manufacturing processes, materials and quality control.
The apprentice will gain experience producing and interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models, supporting design and estimating teams, working with technical documentation and revision control, and understanding how design decisions affect manufacturing. There will also be opportunities to contribute to engineering projects, problem-solving activities and continuous improvement.
The role would suit someone who is organised, creative, logical, has good attention to detail and is interested in engineering and design. Alongside workplace experience, the apprentice will complete a Level 3 Machining Technician qualification and develop practical knowledge of conventional and CNC machining, inspection, quality assurance, health and safety and engineering principles. Training will take place at Printworks Campus, Leeds, one day per week. There is a full-time position available upon successful completion.
