Enrolment opens on 20 August!

As we get ready for enrolment, we wanted to share some tips and advice with you to help get you ready.

If you’re 16-18

One form of ID is required from the list below to enrol:

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • ID Card or other form of national identification
  • Certificate of Entitlement to Funding
  • Bank/Credit/Debit Card
  • Bus Pass
  • Utility Bill
  • JCP Documentation
  • Other Benefit Evidence
  • Continuing Student with Leeds City College (Existing Student ID)
  • Government ID
Evidence of your nationality/residency
If you have not been living in the UK for three years before your course starts (or before 1st September 2025, if you are aged 16-18), you will need to bring evidence of your current immigration permission in the UK (for example, passport and biometric residence permit, Home Office letter, ARC card). If your immigration permission was granted on the basis of your relationship to another person, you will need to provide evidence of that relationship (for example, birth certificate, marriage/civil partnership certificate).

If you’re over 19+

If you have any previous qualifications please bring evidence of these.

You will need to bring one form of photo ID such as a:

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • ID Card or other form of national identification
  • Bus Pass

Proof of address:

  • Utility Bill
  • Bank Statement
  • Council Tax Bill

If you’re not a British citizen please also bring evidence of your right to reside in the UK.

Financial and Welfare Support

Here at Leeds City College we don’t want finance to be a barrier to study. We offer a range of financial support to students to help with the costs associated with studying. You may be able to access support with travel, meals, childcare, fees and course related costs if you meet certain eligibility criteria.

Important

Funds are limited, so eligible students are advised to apply immediately after their enrolment. Staff will be available to support you to apply using the Student Financial Support Fund online application form which will be emailed to you.

What happens when I visit campus?

You will be welcomed by a friendly member of staff who will speak to you about your next steps. Whether this is advising you on your post-GCSE options or helping you to find a course based around your interests, we can help. Visiting campus will also give you a good feel for the place.

I’ve received a college offer but didn’t get the required grades, what should I do?

Speak to us, we are here to help! When we gave you an offer we will have invited you to book an enrolment time. Attend your enrolment slot and one of our curriculum team will help discuss your options and help you find the right course at the right level for you.

If we can’t enrol you onto your dream course, we will be able to offer advice on what you can do next.

I’ve received a college offer but have changed my mind about which course I want to do, what should I do?

Speak to us, you still have time to change your course. Come to your booked enrolment appointment and talk to us about the course you would like to change to and we can give you advice on your next steps.

When will I get my college card, lanyard and timetable?

You will usually receive these during your college induction. Your tutor or a member of your course department will contact you to arrange this.

I haven’t applied for a college course yet, is it too late?

Not at all. You still have time to find your perfect course and make an application. Take a look at our course pages where you can find details of our vocational courses, apprenticeships and T Levels. If you would like to discuss your options, come along to our drop-in sessions and we can help find you the right course.

I haven’t received an invitation, or am struggling, to book an enrolment slot, what should I do?

If you are having difficulty booking an enrolment slot, or if you haven’t received an email inviting you to do so by Thursday 31 July, please contact us on 0113 386 1997.

From August 1, the best way to speak to us is using our online chat.

You can also attend one of our drop-in sessions to talk to us about your options.

What happens if I cannot attend enrolment in person? What if I am away during the enrolment period?
If you are not able to attend college at any time between 20 August and 4 September, you MUST contact us so that we can arrange another date. If you are unable to attend and you do not contact us, we will assume that you no longer want the place on your course. Contacting us will allow us to make alternative arrangements and ensure you are able to start your course in September. Email contact@leedscitycollege.ac.uk to let us know.
I am already a student returning to college, when do I start in September?
The department you are studying with will contact you to arrange your return date to college and detail any information regarding what you need to bring with you.
How can I get help with funding, welfare and childcare?

I am a SEND student - will I be able to get help with enrolment?
Absolutely. If you are a SEND student and require support to enrol, please contact our SEND team, who will be happy to advise.
I have an EHCP, will I be able to get help with enrolment?
Absolutely. If you declared an EHCP when you applied for your place, a member of the SEND team will be in touch with you, to discuss any support you may need during enrolment.
