What Our Students Say

“I decided to study at Leeds City College because I liked the equipment and the rooms that they had, and I liked how it was a whole new space – it had only recently been built so everything was brand spanking new and it looked really clean and really nice.”

Rachel

“The tutors here, they are really interactive and they’re always there, even outside of lessons whenever you need something, we don’t go around calling everyone Sir or Miss, second names – we use first names for everything and there’s a more relaxed and friendly communication between the tutors and the students.”

Overview

Supported Internships are a structured, work-based study programme for 16-24
year olds with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), who have an
education, health and care plan (EHCP). The aim is to support students to gain
paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work, through
learning in the workplace.

Students spend two days in the workplace learning real skills, and one day in
college focusing on English, maths and employability skills.

Students are supported by our expert job coaches throughout the programme.
Each individual will follow a personalised study programme alongside their time

The internship runs for one academic year. The work placement is unpaid with
