About the School

The School of Hair, Beauty & Media Makeup combines creativity, industry knowledge, practical experience, and people skills to produce qualified experts in the beauty industry. Courses range from hairdressing to hair removal courses, and are run in-line with the latest fashion and beauty trends.

FAQs

What are the progression routes from your courses?

Progression routes are available from Level 1 through to Level 3 within the department. University Centre Leeds also offers a degree in Fashion, Theatrical and Media Hair and Makeup as a further progression route for Level 3 students.

What careers do your qualifications lead to?

After completing our courses students can progress to various hair, beauty and media makeup roles. These roles include: creative hair stylist, makeup artist (MUA), beauty spa therapist, hairdresser, colour technician, theatrical makeup artist, wig technician, hair removal specialist, skin rejuvenation specialist, salon and spa manager and beauty assessor/teacher.

What facilities do you have?

We have stunning salon facilities for our students to train in as well as cutting-edge makeup studios. Our students gain also gain experience in a flourishing salon and spa business.

We have a wealth of partnerships with leading brands such as Urban Decay, Treasure House, Dermalogica, Wella, Nouveau, Steiner, St Tropez Sterex, and Skyncare.
