It’s almost that time again where Leeds is brought to life with illuminating lights, quirky sounds and intriguing installations, as part of Light Night.

This year, we’re getting involved by inviting visitors to our Quarry Hill Campus to listen to the sounds of Leeds from our rooftop terrace from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on Thursday 14 October.

A little known secret, the rooftop overlooks the city from seven stories high and provides an oasis of calm. Visitors are encouraged to sit back, relax and listen to the diverse noises on a bustling evening in the centre.

Richard Lee, Head of Media, Music and Performance Production at Leeds City College, has been involved with the organisation of the event.

“Light Night is a well-anticipated event each year, and we’re excited for Quarry Hill Campus to celebrate with the city’s creative sector. We’ve always loved being involved in the event and have hosted various projections, installations and fire pits in the past.

“Listen to Leeds will give people the opportunity to sit back in a unique and calm environment to embrace the sounds of the area. We will also have creative installations in our theatre, exhibitions in our two galleries from professional contemporary artists and refreshments for all the family.”
