Course Information
Introduction
Technician scientists conduct routine lab investigations using bench and instrument techniques, applying established scientific principles to collect, analyse, interpret data, and report results and progress updates.
Overview
Technician scientists work in various industries like the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotech sectors, in both large and small organisations. Typically lab-based, they collaborate with scientific teams, communicate findings, and ensure work quality. Operating in regulated, predictable environments, they make informed decisions, follow safety and ethical standards, and critically evaluate scientific methods to solve routine problems. They contribute to project management, maintain accurate records, use data systems, and support new scientific ideas. They may also manage resources within defined areas, playing a vital role in supporting scientific research and ensuring reliable lab results.
