Apprenticeship Information
Introduction
Learning and Skills Teachers plan and deliver engaging, up-to-date teaching to help Further Education students gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to reach their full potential.
Overview
Learning and Skills Teachers work across the Further Education and Skills sector, teaching learners aged 16 and above in settings such as FE colleges, sixth forms, training providers and offender learning. They deliver a wide range of academic, vocational and technical education (typically up to Level 3) drawing on industry or academic expertise to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons. Teachers must be adaptable, responsive to learners’ needs, and committed to ongoing professional development. They help students progress into work or further study, and may also manage people or budgets. They work with colleagues, students, employers and stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
