As an apprentice LGV Technician at LC Vehicle Hire you will work under the instruction of qualified technical staff in order to learn and gain an understanding of all aspects of a LGV Technician role.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • Learn to work safely at all times within the workshop and yard
  • Learning the fundamentals of Light Vehicle technologies – Light Vehicle chassis, engine, fuels, transmissions, hydraulic braking, electrical systems, and testing
  • Learn all aspects of LGV auto electrician work
  • Learning how to service, maintain and repair a range of different manufacturer light commercial vehicles and ancillary equipment
  • Ensure all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner, keeping a through record
  • Liaise with parts department to identify and order parts
  • To attend college and pass all theory tests to NVQ level 3
  • To represent LC Vehicle Hire in a professional and courteous manner always when dealing with customers and the public
