Course Information
Introduction
This programme allows students to work in science. A laboratory scientist applies specialist knowledge and broad scientific understanding to carry out a range of technical and scientific activities in their specialist discipline.
Overview
As an apprentice, you can work in a variety of science sectors including chemical, primary, secondary, pharmaceutical, biotechnical, nuclear and analytical science services. Your job will be to provide support to the organisation, undertake laboratory testing and report your findings to your employer. This is a practical apprenticeship and will be suitable for you if you have a keen interest in science and can undertake repetitive tasks with precision.

You will also work towards achieving an Applied Biology HNC before the end of your apprenticeship.

Trainee Lab Technician (Manufacture)
As a trainee lab technician you will gain an introduction and training of onsite equipment. In addition, you will develop an understanding of machines used, the end-to-end process of raw materials and working safely in the laboratory.
Lab Assistant
As a lab assistant you will ensure the laboratory is well stocked. In addition, you will undertake basic laboratory techniques, understand quality procedures and apply theoretical science knowledge to practice.
