Students gain hands-on industry experience in Spain
Posted: July 4, 2025
Eight of our students relished the chance to hone their skills with Spanish businesses during a trip to Seville. The learners, from Hair and Beauty and Food and Drink, headed to the city in May thanks to a partnership with Third Sector International and funding from the Turing Scheme. The trip was designed to give each of them some invaluable overseas work experience.
Hands-On learning for Hair and Beauty students

Four students from our Level 2 and Level 4 Hair and Beauty programmes took part in practical placements at two modern wellness and beauty centres.
At Las Termas de Hispalis, a high-end wellness centre, they gained exposure to spa treatments and holistic health practices.
Those placed at Más Bella Estética, meanwhile, got involved in delivering beauty therapy and skincare services.
Expanding culinary skills

The Food and Drink students seized upon the chance to expand their culinary expertise through working in some of Seville’s diverse range of food establishments.
The Level 2 and Level 3 learners experienced some authentic Italian cuisine, and a lively atmosphere, while helping at Al Solito Posto. At Durazno y Chajá meanwhile – a neighbourhood bakery which caters for a variety of specific needs – they gained important insights into dietary-specific baking.
Cultural enrichment beyond the workplace

There was time for all the students to immerse themselves in the rich Adalusian culture, too, by exploring Seville’s historic sites and taking Spanish lessons.
That ensured that they returned home from a really memorable trip with a richer cultural awareness, as well as enhanced vocational skills.
