A CELEBRATION OF ACHIEVEMENT IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY

Posted: August 17, 2021

The accomplishments of Leeds City College’s students over a very testing 12 months are documented on an eye-catching new website.

Leeds City College’s Virtual Festival has been created to display ‘a visual showcase of the hard work and dedication’ that students have shown over the past year.

The site was produced by two Events, Projects and Promotions apprentices plus a Project Management apprentice from the School of Events, Enterprise and Employability .

Showcase documents ‘huge effort’ made during the pandemic

They said: “After a year of lockdowns and restrictions, with very little opportunity to show off student work, the Virtual Festival is a showcase of the hard work and success shown by students during such a challenging time.

“The festival is celebrating the work from nine departments across Leeds City College and exhibits a range of curriculum areas.

“From Pride makeup to sports coaching to science experiments, the festival demonstrates how diverse and extensive the talent across the college is.

“Over the last few months each department has been working hard to put together content that represents their students’ experience and each department’s page includes work, assessments and experiences from across the past year, providing an insight into the huge amount of effort that was put in by our amazing students.

“The festival also provides an opportunity for prospective students to have a preview of the work they will be tackling during their chosen course.”
