14- 16 Skills Development Programme

The 14-16 Developing Skills Programme at Leeds City College, now based at our Mabgate Campus, provides full-time provision for year 10 and 11 students, including specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) support. Programmes of study focus on English, Maths, Life & Work/Employability Skills and are delivered through a model of high staff to student ratio.

The provision also offers access to vocational courses within the wider college curriculum areas to give students experiences to inform their post-16 pathways.

The provision principally cares for students of compulsory school age who may not otherwise receive suitable education. Its mission is to remove barriers to learning, develop character and confidence, improve lives and secure vibrant futures for vulnerable students who may otherwise find themselves not in education, employment or training (NEET)
