Course Information
Introduction
This course is ideal if you’re interested in a career in sport and wish to return to education and progress to university or access a higher level apprenticeship. This is a part time course delivered one day a week.
With this course, you’ll cover multiple aspects of sports including fitness testing, nutrition and digestion, exercise physiology, and sports injuries. You’ll also complete academic units to improve your communication, research, presentation, and writing skills.
Who is this course for?
This Diploma is ideal for adult learners (19+) who have a keen interest in sports, wellbeing and healthy living, fitness and exercise. With this course, you will build your knowledge of coaching and human and sports science, as well as the wider sports industry. This course prepares students for sport related degrees including Sport and Exercise Science, Sport Coaching, Sport Psychology and Sport Studies for example.
You will study a range of subject areas including:
- Coaching in Sport
- Fitness Testing
- Exercise Physiology
- Psychology: Motivation in Sport
- Nutrition, Hydration and Performance
- Sports Injuries
Entry requirements
GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or above.
