Your route to university
Want to find out more about a Level 3 course at Leeds City College?
What is Level 3?
Level 3 qualifications are an alternative to sixth form and a real, viable route to university. You get real industry connections and can fulfil their ambitions leading to university, higher apprenticeships or employment.
These two-year courses can lead to higher education but also emphasise practical skills that employers need, rather than academic study. Students benefit from focused teaching around their chosen subject, specialised facilities to prepare for the working world and industry links with sector-specific experts.
T Levels are new Level 3 technical qualifications rolling out nationally from 2020.
These two-year qualifications have been developed with employers across 11 industry routes and sit alongside A-levels and apprenticeships. The idea is for colleges to streamline and enhance the quality of technical education you get in order to meet the skills and productivity priorities of the UK economy, which in return gives you access to more future employment opportunities.
By 2024, T Levels will be available in 25 qualification subjects and each qualification will be equivalent to three A levels with UCAS tariff points allocated to grades. For more information about T levels, visit the Government’s website

Are there rules on dress code, makeup, hair dye and piercings?
We encourage individuality so our students are allowed to wear makeup, have piercings and dye their hair. For dress code, our students don’t have to wear uniform (unless it is a requirement of their specific course) and many students wear casual clothing. We do ask that students ensure their clothing is still modest and appropriate for a learning environment.
