Apprentice Baker
Overview
What you will do in your working day
- Helping to package and prepare products to customers
- Assisting at factory trials if appropriate
- Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic at all times
- Work safely around kitchen equipment
- Bake off products for sampling and customer presentations
- Prepare samples for customers

Training to be Delivered
During your apprenticeship you will be enrolled at Leeds City College (School of Travel, Food and Drink) and will complete the following programme:
Level 2 Baker Apprenticeship
This programme allows students to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours through the practical period at college as well as in the work place doing on the job training. The standard includes a Level 2 Diploma in Bakery as well as Maths and English (if applicable). The role overview of a Bakery Apprentice is to produce or bake-off food safe bakery products and package and label them to specification. Bakery products may be bread, pastries or confectionery. There are three different pathways to this standard and we offer the Craft Baker Option as part of this standard.
