The awards were attended by over 800 apprentices, employers and individuals across England.

Muhammad Uddin

“It is absolutely phenomenal to win the Intermediate Apprentice of the Year award! I believe my success will inspire and help others strive to work hard and achieve their goals. The sky is the limit!”
Muhammad was shortlisted earlier in the year for Yorkshire and Humberside, and won the overall award for the region.

He started his apprenticeship in 2016, after leaving school, and within 12 months had gained qualifications and experience which enabled him to secure a promotion at Yorkshire Housing. Earlier in the year, he was shortlisted for the Top 20 Young Leaders at the Housing Awards.

The talented young apprentice, who exceeded his employer’s expectations, has been instrumental to the organisation’s growth – generating additional income, mentoring new apprentices, running workshops and training colleagues.

He has spoken at local black, Asian, and minority ethnic (BAME) forums across the region, including career events. Muhammad has also featured on podcasts, websites and represented the Young Apprentice Ambassador Network.

The National Apprenticeship Awards, now in their 15th year, showcase the diverse range of sectors engaged with apprenticeships and challenge top apprenticeship employers, apprentices and those who champion the programmes across England to come forward and show how apprenticeships have made a real difference to their organisation and careers.
