International piano competition comes to Leeds City College
Over 100 students from Leeds City College experienced a unique opportunity to watch a recital by the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition.
The exclusive performance by Alexia Mouza and Andrzej Wierciński took place at the Park Lane Campus theatre, leaving the audience of creative arts students and teachers inspired and in awe.

The competition is one of the top in the world for classical piano and has a storied history with many winners going on to have illustrious careers, including Murray Perahia, Mitsuko Uchida and András Schiff.
The mini concert was particularly impressive for the brand new cohort of music students who joined the college this week. They will be moving to the cutting-edge Quarry Hill Campus next year, where more exciting performances will be taking place.
Alongside Leeds City College, the competition is taking the piano into Leeds with a series of public engagement events, which includes sending the competitors who didn’t progress into the semi-finals into the city to play on the Piano Trail and perform in various schools and community spaces.
