Watercolour Beginner course
With our exciting course, you will develop your watercolour painting skills.
You will work from observation as well as from your own research. You will
explore tonal and colour values, practise applying compositional rules, and gain
experience in mixing colours and using brushes. You will create personal work
within the direction of a theme set. Basic materials are provided but you’ll need to bring high quality
watercolour blocks or tubes such as Winsor and Newton or St Petersburg White
Nights. You may also bring your own brushes and paper. Your tutor is Julia Borodina. Julia is a Russian-born Fine Artist, who has a
passion for colour, loose painting technique and enjoys using impressionistic
approaches within her work. Julia holds a BA in Fine Art from Omsk University, Russia and an MA in
Painting from University of Wolverhampton. She has an extended experience of
designing and leading creative workshops specialising in painting and
drawing. This 10 week course runs on a Thursday evening from 6-8:30pm at Quarry Hill
Campus in Leeds city centre.
