Department
If you’re looking to develop your singing skills and a vocal style in
contemporary music, choir, theatre, or live performance, this course is for you.
You will develop breathing techniques and learn how to sing in key. You’ll
practise vocal exercises such as scales, pitch, and tone. You’ll learn how to
use melodies and harmonies in call and response. You’ll also explore singing
styles and create or build your own style. You will develop skills that will help you to improve as a singer after the
course by understanding how to sing safely, breathing techniques and how to
continue your personal practice. This course is based in a supportive informal setting, culminating in a
relaxed performance for family and friends on the final day. This 10 week course runs on a Tuesday evening from 6-8:30pm at Quarry Hill
Campus in Leeds city centre. For enquiries please email shortcourses-creativearts@leedscitycollege.ac.uk.
