If you are aged between 16-24 (19+ for those with an EHCP) and are looking for a full time or part time course to help you develop your personal growth and wellbeing, then this is a perfect choice.

If you want to continue your studies this course will give you the opportunity to develop the skills essential for future success including our Level 1 and 2 courses.


Somerville House

Course Information

Strongly focuses on developing personal and wellbeing skills. Students can complete a BTEC award vocational course with us in a variety of subjects if on the full time course: this is equivalent to Entry Level 3.

Students can choose a vocational course or an on-site work placement.

Vocational subjects include: Art, Sport and Public Services, Business and IT, Health and Social Care, Construction and Motor Vehicle, Hospitality and Catering and Science. We can also offer alternative subjects based on demand.

Onsite work experience placements includes Catering, Admin and Reception work.

Start dates from September to January. (We do also accept students post-January on a case by case basis.)

Enrichment activities available which enhance employability and soft skills.

PSHCE and Digital Skills (ICT) lessons are timetabled weekly. Students work towards their maths and English qualification (GCSE/ Functional Skills/ RARPA maths and English). If a student has achieved one of Maths or English, then they can re-sit the one they have not passed with us and we can amend their timetable so they are still in full time.

Most students who come onto this course do progress onto a mainstream college course or secure employment after completion.
