The NEBOSH National Diploma builds on knowledge that is gained from studying a NEBOSH Certificate, or similar course, and it is highly recommended that such a qualification is gained before starting the NEBOSH Diploma course.

The NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety builds on the knowledge gained at NEBOSH Certificate level. It is based on UK law and is made up of four units which must be completed within five years.

Assessed by a three hour written exam

Unit B: Hazardous Agents in the Workplace

  • Hazardous Substances and Other Chemicals - Assessment of Risk; Engineering Controls and Personal Protective Equipment
  • Monitoring and Measuring

  • Psychosocial Agents
  • Musculoskeletal Risks and Controls
  • Work Environment Risks and Controls
  • Managing Occupational Health

Assessed by a three hour written exam

  • September 2020- January 2021 
  • Unit C: Workplace and Work Equipment Safety
  • 13 weeks (1 day a week)
  • £1500.00 (VAT, Exam fee and Textbook included)
  • Rothwell Campus
  • 9:00am-4:30pm
  • Valid I.D is required on enrolment/ start date (passport or driver’s licence)
  • Parking is completely free.

  • General Workplace Issues 
  • Principles of Fire and Explosion
  • Workplace Fire Risk Assessment
  • Storage, Handling and Processing of Dangerous Substances
  • Work Equipment – General; Workplace Machinery; Mobile, Lifting and Access 
  • Electrical Safety and Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • Construction Hazards and Controls o Workplace Transport and Driving for Work 
  • Pressure System Hazards and Controls

Assessed by a three hour written exam

  • Unit D: Application of Health and Safety Theory and Practice
  • Registration dates can be found on the NEBOSH website.

Assessed by an 8,000 word work based project

Acquisition of the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
