This course is for people working in or looking to work in assessment and internal quality assurance. It’s open to people carrying out assessments and quality assurance in most learning environments including further education, employment settings and the third sector.

Course Information

This qualification allows learners to enter the world of assessment and quality assurance. It is the recognised standard for assessors and forms part of the Learning & Development and Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector qualifications. Students will learn about the principles and practices of assessment, assessing occupational competence in a work environment, and assessing vocational skills. They will attend four weekly workshops to learn the knowledge relating to the principles and practices of assessment and have access to individual tutorials to plan and evidence competence in assessing.

Who is this course for?

This qualification is for people who assess occupational competence, both within the work environment and outside it (in classrooms, training rooms and other environments).

Units / Modules

Learners will complete all three units of the assessor certificate. These units cover the principles and practices of assessment, assessing occupational competence in a work environment, and assessing vocational skills.
