The Leader in Adult Care will inspire team members to make positive
differences in someone’s life. They will be recognised as a leader in adult care
sustaining and promoting a values-based approach at an operational level. The role may include financial control, business development, managing risk,
development and change within the organisation.

With this apprenticeship, you will be managing a team of frontline workers
supporting individuals with care requirements. You will be leading a team and
inspiring them to make positive differences to individual’s lives.
You will be in a position where you can exercise autonomy and accountability
while leading and supporting others with complying with expected standards and
behaviours. This is a varied role and can be found within a number of different
Tasks and responsibilities
- Statutory frameworks, standards, guidance and Codes of Practice which
underpin practice in relation to the safe delivery of services
- Systems and processes needed to ensure compliance with regulations and
organisational policies and procedures including health and safety and risk
- Principles of risk management, assessment and outcome based practice
- Principles and underpinning theories of change management including
approaches, tools and techniques that support the change process
- Legislative and regulatory frameworks which inform quality standards
- Theories and models that underpin performance and appraisal including
Dignity and human rights
- Legislation and policy initiatives on the promotion of diversity, equality
and inclusion in services they lead
- Legal and ethical frameworks in relation to confidentiality and sharing
- Range of tools and strategies to enhance communication including
- Legislation, national and local solutions for the safeguarding of adults
and children including reporting requirements
- The elements needed to create a culture that supports whistleblowing in
Health and wellbeing
- Models of monitoring, reporting and responding to changes in health and
wellbeingHealth and wellbeing
- Principles of professional development
- Goals and aspirations that support own professional development and how to
access available opportunities
- Elements needed to create a culture that values learning, professional
development, reflective practice and evidence based practice

Who is this course for?
The apprenticeship is ideal for existing managers who wish to progress, retrain or upskill or those.
This qualification is useful for learners who provide direct support and those working in sectors including:
- social care
Units / Modules
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care
- Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to completion of their Apprenticeship
- Leader in Adult Care Level 5 Standard
- For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3 and British Sign Language qualification are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.

Final decision and grade confirmed as Fail, Pass or Distinction.
- You should be at 19 years old
- It is recommended that you already hold a L3 qualification or above in the area
- You will need to be working in the role of Deputy Manager or Manager in a relevant setting
- You will need to be working at least 30 hours per week
- You will need to demonstrate competence in both knowledge and skills.
