Introduction to British Sign Language and Deaf Awareness

This 4 week course is designed to teach you how to communicate basically with
deaf people in British Sign Language (BSL) on a range of topics that involve
simple, everyday language use. You will gain the basic skills and confidence in
production and reception of British Sign Language. This course runs for 11 weeks
and is assessed through conversations in British Sign Language and a practical
assessment of skills.

This course is aimed at learners that wish to learn new communication skills and a whole new language. This Introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) and Deaf Awareness course will teach you some of the skills to help people with communication disabilities. Along with learning to sign alphabets and numbers, this course will prepare you to communicate effectively in sign language.
