This programme allows students to work in the hospitality sector. Hospitality team members carry out a range of general and specialist roles within hospitality businesses, including bars, cafes, conference centres, restaurants and hotels.

Course Information

With this apprenticeship, you will work as a hospitality team member. You role will be varied and though you may identify a specialism, you will need to be ready to support the team across the business. You will develop excellent hospitality skills and knowledge of understanding customer needs and knowing how to match customers to the products and services offered within the business.

    You will also need to choose a specialism that fits within your job role. A specialism could be food and beverage service, alcoholic beverage service, barista work, food production, concierge and guest services work, housekeeping, reception work, reservations or conference and events operations.

    Career Progression

    Barista

    As a barista you will welcome customers and determine their coffee interests and needs. In addition, you will educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu. You will also prepare and sell coffees by following prescribed recipes.

    Bartender

    As a bartender you will prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage including cocktails and mocktails. In addition, you will interact with customers by taking orders and making recommendations from the menu.
