Health and Social Care Level 1

If you are thinking about a career in the care sector, then this part-time course is an ideal start as it prepares you for a role working in care. It will not qualify you to work in the sector but it gives you the grounding to move on to the Level 2 course. This Level 1 course gives you a good knowledge and understanding of what it is like to work in the sector. You will explore the roles played by care workers from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others. Students will look at the importance of good communication, person-centered care, safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety in the workplace.

Entry requirements include English and maths at Entry Level 3 or above. All students will be invited to attend an English and maths assessment.
