Trips & Opportunities

During 2018 and 2019 public service students had more than 3,000 opportunities to engage with the public services including working with West Yorkshire Police in public order training and police dog handling. Students experienced emergency planning exercises with Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Authority, and West Yorkshire Ambulance Service. They also visited prisons in Leeds and Preston, had guest presentations from prison officers, and completed Royal Marine and British Army assault courses.

Entry Requirements

Two GCSEs at grade 4 including English and maths. If you don’t have these grades, contact us and we can find you an alternative public services course.

Career Progression

The Level 3 qualification offers a wide range of progression opportunities. The majority of our learners apply for the West Yorkshire Police Degree Apprenticeship Scheme or apply for a range of university courses. Following completion of the course many learners have been successful with application in the Armed Forces, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Prison and Probation Service and Fire and Rescue Services across the county.
