This Introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 course is suitable for anyone interested in continuing their learning of BSL. You can learn BSL to connect with more people, enhance your professional opportunities, or broaden your social horizon.

Whether you’re a beginner or have some knowledge about BSL, you can take this course without any worries. To access this BSL course it is expected that you have previously completed and achieved BSL Level 1.

Course Information

This 4 week course is designed to help you bridge the gap between Level 1 and Level 2 content and help you to understand how to communicate basically with deaf people in British Sign Language (BSL) on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language use.

You will gain the basic skills and confidence in production and reception of British Sign Language. This course runs for 4 weeks and is assessed through conversations in British Sign Language and a practical assessment of skills.


Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at learners that wish to continue to develop communication skills and a whole new language. This Introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) course will teach you some of the skills to help people with communication disabilities.

Along with learning to sign alphabets and numbers, this course will prepare you to communicate effectively in sign language.

Assessment Types
