Would you like to work with children in an early years setting such as daycare, pre-school or a nursery? This course will give you knowledge of the core principles of working in the childcare sector. You will learn about child development, play and learning, safeguarding and communicating with children and adults while deepening your equality and diversity and health and safety knowledge.

Fee: Free for unemployed adults who are UK residents. It is available for other adults but charges may apply.

Course Information

This course operates online and is suitable for adults aged 19 or over who have a keen interest in childcare. Though there are no formal entry requirements, you will need English skills at Level 1 or above. To be able to work with children, you will not be able to have a criminal record. There are no exams for this course, you will be assessed via projects and tasks.

Once you have applied, we will carry out a short skills assessment and signpost to other courses if this is not the appropriate course for your needs.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you will need spoken and written English skills at Level 1 or above as well as no criminal record.
