Making the most of the wide variety of both ecological and managed horticulture areas at Temple Newsam, you’ll develop your own personal progression plan, as well as learning how to prepare soil, grow plants, and understand key health and safety requirements.

Course Information

This one year full time course will allow learners to gain the skills and
knowledge to work with a variety of plants. This qualification will be taught at
Temple Newsam, a large country estate on the outskirts of Leeds. Within the
estate there is a wide variety of ecological and managed horticulture areas to
effectively develop learner skills. This is the perfect location to undertake
any horticulture qualification.


How to get to us


FlexiBus:


Students can travel from East Leeds to Temple Newsam via the FlexiBus and it
will bring you directly into the estate. The bus can be ordered 1 hour before it
is required and operates between 7am- 7pm Monday – Saturday. Fares start from
just £1.20. You can learn more about the designated routes, booking information
and the FlexiBus app via their website.

Alternative bus services that run in the area include the 19 and 19A. It is a
short walk from the bus stop to the college buildings.


Campus bus:


The campus bus will run from Leeds bus station directly to Temple Newsam
every day. It will cost £5 per week and is only bookable once the learner
enrols.


By train:


Temple Newsam is located 1.9 miles from Cross Gates train station, an
approximate 35-minute walk.


By car:


From the M1 take junction 46. Temple Newsam is a short drive from this exit,
there is on-site parking available.
