Art Appreciation Mixed course

Our Art Appreciation course will help you gain a deep and rich understanding
of the history of art. This course will help you to read works of art, uncover
their meaning, and give them a historical context. You’ll look at a range of
historical and contemporary artwork. You will learn how to analyse and judge
works of art while reading visual language. You’ll explore the context of
artwork and the impact of processes on the viewer. You’ll investigate the nature
of value and beauty, and situate art in their social and political contexts. This 10 week course runs on a Wednesday evening from 6-8:30pm at Quarry Hill
