ACL General Sewing Thursday Afternoon (Term 2)
This course is a continuers course for local community adults (men and women) who wish to develop their social skills and interaction through sewing. This course aims to build confidence in basic sewing, pinning and fabric skills.

Learn new skills to impress your friends and family. If you are a complete beginner wishing to have a thorough introduction to using a sewing equipment, learning different sewing techniques, understanding basic sewing patterns and learning basic cutting skills.

Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at learners that have an interest in learning or developing new skills. All classes have an emphasis on being fun and informal, and can cater for all abilities. This course can help whether you’re a sewing novice or you want to build on skills you’ve already got by learning a new one.
At the end of this sewing class, not only will you be able to take home your sewing creations to show your friends and family but you’ll also take home some cool and practical sewing skills too.
This course aims to improve and support learners with their social interaction and mental health through improving their sewing skills.

- Set up and thread a machine to achieve a variety of seams and finishes on a range of fabrics
- Select the correct needle for the fabric and stitch pattern
- Use a variety of combinations of stitch length and width to produce desired results.
- Use a variety of different stitch patterns
