This course is for local community adults (men and women) who wish to develop their social skills and interaction through patchwork activities.

This is a continuers course for local community adults (men and women) who wish to develop their social skills and interaction through patchwork projects. This course aims to build confidence in developing and improving hand-sewing skills and techniques.

Course Information

Learn new skills to impress your friends and family. In this course you will have a thorough introduction to learning how to create patchwork activities, learning different sewing techniques and understanding basic patchwork patterns.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at learners who have an interest in learning or developing new skills. All classes have an emphasis on being fun and informal and can cater for all abilities. This course can help whether you’re a patchwork novice or you want to build on skills you’ve already got by learning a new one.

At the end of this patchwork class, not only will you be able to take home your creations to show your friends and family but you’ll also take home some cool and practical patchwork skills too.

This course aims to improve and support learners with their social interaction and mental health through improving their patchwork skills.

Units / Modules

  • Learn how to hand cut, rotary cut , tack and sew hexagons.
  • Cutting and sewing strip patchwork and adding bordering.
  • Cutting and stitching concentric square blocks.

Assessment Types

Learners will be supported by the course teacher to try out different projects and challenges each week.
