Our strong links with the armed services, police and fire as well as with local professional sports clubs ensure your studies provide a real insight into your particular area of interest, equipping you with the essential skills to succeed.
Benefit from visits to HM Prisons, Fire Stations and training with the West Yorkshire Police Dog Handlers. Participate in public order training with West Yorkshire Police and attend presentations from guest speakers including Local MPs. You may also have the opportunity to volunteer for Leeds City Council Emergency Planning Department.
Former students have gone on to study Law at university and entered work as Prison Officers, Police Officers, Armed Forces, Paramedics and Fire Fighters.

During 2013 – 2014 public service students had over 3000 opportunities to engage with the public services they hope to join. These opportunities included, working with West Yorkshire Police in Public Order Training and Police Dog Handling. Participating in emergency planning exercises with Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Authority and West Yorkshire Ambulance Service. Visiting Leeds & Preston Prisons and guest presentations from Prison Officers and former prison inmates. Completing Royal Marine and British Army physical entrance tests including their own Assault Courses.
