Childhood & Education

Want to work with children? Our courses combine placements in schools and nurseries where you can develop your practical childcare skills with classes at college to learn the theory.

Childhood & Education

The Childcare Academy at Leeds City College will help you to develop a career working with Children in the Early Years or in Schools.

Our courses are taught by experienced professionals who have current industry experience and skills in play, learning, development and education.

Work placement is an essential part of our courses, and you will  gain the practical skills required to support child development and learning in schools, nurseries, children’s centres and play schemes.

At college you will learn the theory to support the developing child in a range of practical rooms and our Advanced Learning Zone which has a range of multi-media devices to help you with your research and assignments.

If you want to progress to university and you are considering a career as a primary school teacher or Early Years Educator our Level 3 Technical Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) can offer between 180 and 420 UCAS points as well as practical work experience to help you get onto the degree of your choice.
