All units are class based and learning is facilitated by formal lectures, practical group work and ICT interaction. This diploma route is particularly relevant for those wishing to undertake degrees in Nursing or Midwifery.

You will develop the academic skills, knowledge and understanding to enable you to progress to University and pursue a professional career of your choice.
Assessment includes coursework and exams in two semesters over the year. Some units may include presentations. All work is internally moderated and externally moderated by assessors from the awarding body Certa.
This course is delivered at our Technology Campus.
You need GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above (Grade 4 or above if you did your GCSEs from 2017). Equivalent qualifications may be considered.
Additional requirements: Successful interview and demonstration of appropriate sector care values.
The Diploma is designed to give successful students an alternative entry qualification and route to many Higher Education courses both locally and nationally including nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, radiography, and other health based subjects.
Following your application to an Access HE course you are strongly advised to research the individual entry requirements for the HE courses and universities you wish to progress to.
Students who have successfully completed the course have progressed to university to study Adult Nursing, Child Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, radiography, paramedic practice and audiology.
