To perform all duties related to the build of bespoke Control Panels. This will include fitting components, trunking and din rail to drawings supplied. Wiring components including fuse switches, contactors, relays, variable speed drives and PLC equipment. Fitting doors with lamps, switches and push buttons and punching out holes as necessary.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • Comply with Saftronics’ Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems
  • Wiring components to schematic drawings
  • Looming and crimping of wires from 0.25mm2-185mm2
  • Completing work to a high standard
  • Fitting of mounting rails, idents, trunking and components to metal backplates
  • Interconnecting sections together in large enclosures
  • Fitting wired assemblies within boxes and large enclosures
  • Torque setting screws and bolts using calibrated equipment
  • Installing and torque setting copper busbar systems
